First a little history…

In his younger days, Dick Idol grew up in the rural countryside of North Carolina where he spent most of his time in the woods and playing sports. As an athlete, he attended North Carolina State University on a football and baseball scholarship and was a member of the famous “White Shoe Defense” which was the number one team in the nation and winner of the Liberty Bowl. As a result, he received offers to play in the NFL. But…..his passion was always the outdoors.

Over the last several decades, Dick’s uncharted path has taken him down a road unparalleled in the outdoor world. After college, Dick moved to Alaska where he owned and operated one of the top taxidermy businesses, which eventually evolved to include guiding, outfitting and booking hunts for big game clients around the world. With a degree in Wildlife Biology, Dick subsequently spent many years actively pursuing his outdoor passions of hunting, taxidermy and guiding in Alaska, Africa, the West and most other big game frontiers of the 70’s and 80’s.

(Based on the Boone and Crockett scoring system). Today, the collection resides in the Bass-Pro Museum in Springfield Missouri.

Interactive Bronze Monuments…

His most profound contribution to the bronze monument world is what Dick has coined “Interactive Bronze Monuments” whereby numerous sensory elements are incorporated for maximum viewer interaction. The judicious use of moving and static water, special lighting features above and below the waterline, forms of audio such as waterfall noise and music, artificial and natural stonescapes, landscaping, light and water shows, etc. all add up to maximum “WOW” power.
